Our Mission

Conwy Connect for Learning Disabilities was set up in 1997 to help promote the rights of people with a learning disability living in North Wales. Its aims include ensuring people have equality of choice and opportunity in the community they live in.

Our Services

Conwy Connect offers a wide range of services

Conwy Connect has helped us to give our daughters opportunities which they may not have in society. This has enabled them to show us what they can do with a bit of support!

Our Activities

Here at Conwy Connect, we plan and hold lots of activities for both adults and children with learning disabilities. From weekly groups to days out, we love giving our members the opportunity to try new things whilst making new friends.

Discos

Our disco is a highlight in both the member’s and the staff’s social calendars. An uplifting night out where we are firm supporters of the “Stay Out Late” campaign. We run an adults disco on alternate Monday’s and our under 18’s disco is once a month.

Makaton Choir

The Makaton Choir meets on alternate Monday’s to learn how to sign to music. Makaton is a language programme that uses signs together with speech and symbols, to help communication. Never signed before? Don’t worry! Our Makaton choir is a great place to start!

Art Groups

We have weekly art sessions for adults and children and young people. With a great variety of activities our art groups are a great place to come and get arty!

Sports Sessions

From Boccia to Bowls, Dance to Yoga come and get moving with us! All our group leaders tailor the sessions to a variety of abilities. Come and give these sessions a go, and lets get moving!

Days Out

Our activities officers work hard to organise days out for our members. Keep an eye on our Facebook page or take a look at our Event page for announcements!

  • At a time when carers and those with disabilities are being failed (cancelled holiday clubs, respite etc), Conwy Connect is a lifeline for families that are really struggling.
